Maleena Pone is a multi-disciplinary creative executive producer, director, broadcaster and storyteller. She builds work at the intersection of broadcast, branded, digital and social media, and knows exactly where the story is, no matter the format.
A C4 documentary about her mother, her identity, and the silences her family kept for decades. After the loss of her younger brother, grief pushed her mother toward addiction, and shame kept it hidden for years. In a final attempt to heal what words couldn’t, mother and daughter travelled to Costa Rica together to work with plant medicine, and Maleena’s mission to save her mother became something harder: learning to accept her. Previewed at BAFTA. Broadcast on Channel 4. Winner of the RTS Southern Award for Best Single Documentary.
A global campaign with Matt Damon, made with agency Mother. Craft at the sharpest end of advertising.
